Beth VA7FHB

Elizabeth Weston
September 2, 2019

Beth Weston VA7FHB became a ham in spring of 2019. She passed away at home with OM Paul VE7PJO and many family members at her side on September 2, 2019. Beth wrote the exam about the beginning of May and VA7FHB was offically assigned to her by May 7, so she only a ham for a short time - just 119 days - but she was certainly a member of the fraternity for a much longer time. It goes without saying that the entire club offers condolences to Paul and all of his family. Beth will be greatly missed.

Beth chose the call sign VA7FHB because it was part of the "tail number" for the first de Havilland Beaver DHC-2 (CF-FHB on display at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa) which OM Paul VE7PJO had flown in the past. The "cute phonetics" for FHB were Fair Haired Babe, but of course Foxtrot Hotel Bravo was always used on nets. RIP Beth.
